Kids' Corner- Information for children about Family Court

Looking for a gentle way to help your child understand family changes and the Family Court? Kids’ Corner, created by the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, is a welcoming online resource that explains what happens when families need the Court’s help.

Developed with input from children and experts, Kids’ Corner includes short animations, stories from children’s perspectives and easy-to-understand answers to common questions. It also explores feelings children may experience and explains unfamiliar words they might hear along the way.

For parents and carers using a Children’s Contact Service, particularly those whose families are also involved in court proceedings, it may be a helpful starting point for conversations. Take a look yourself first, then choose what feels appropriate for your child’s age and circumstances. Explore together at their pace, making room for questions, feelings and opportunities to simply listen.
